To underline the importance of this event, with which they wish to make a living, vivid commemoration of such a significant figure for the Salesian Congregation and at the same time give thanks to God for the gift of Father Viganò, Rector Major Fr Ángel Fernández Artime will also be present in Sondrio.
Other Salesians of the Central Office will also participate in the commemoration of Fr Viganò. Fr Stefano Martoglio, Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr Stefano Vanoli, Secretary General, and Hilario Seo, representing the Social Communication Department.
The day includes two public moments to which the whole Sondrio community is invited. The first begins at 5.15 pm with a civil ceremony that includes the greeting of the Authorities and the floral tribute to the bust of Fr Egidio Viganò, which is located in the square named after him. It continues at 6 pm with the Mass presided over by the Rector Major in the courtyard of the Salesian Institute. In case of bad weather, the celebration will be moved to the Sacro Cuore oratory.
In compliance with the current anti-Covid-19 provisions, the collaboration of all will be fundamental as regards to compliance with the rules on social distancing and the indications that will be given by the reception service. Despite being outdoors, it will be necessary for participants to be equipped with a mask.
