Amatitán, Mexico - November 2024 - Ongoing formation weeks were held for the Salesians of the Mexico-Guadalajara Province (MEG) from 4 to 22 November. Three weeks of formation were held at Casa Betsaida in Amatitán, Jalisco, where each Salesian, depending on the week chosen, received formation on various topics. During each week in an atmosphere of fraternity, it was possible to explore how the Salesian mission is being carried out in each of the works. They began with a retreat and presentation on accompaniment. Afterwards, each participant was able to reflect on personal health care, the economy, youth realities, mission and vocation, social communication and the code of ethics.
Toronto, Canada – November 2024 – From 16 to 19 November, on behalf of the Rector Major Fr Hugo Orozco, Regional Councillor for Interamerica, visited the Salesian communities of Etobicoke and Hamilton, located in the Greater Toronto Metropolitan Area. On 17 November, the Regional Councillor presided at the Mass, celebrated in the Parish of St Benedict. Numerous faithful were present for the occasion, saying they were enthusiastic about the joyful presence of Fr Orozco.
(ANS – Brussels) – Don Bosco International (DBI) is excited to share its guidelines for planning study visits at the European Union headquarters in Brussels. These visits are an exceptional opportunity for schools, vocational training centres and youth organisations to connect young people with the main European institutions, making European citizenship a tangible and engaging experience. The guidelines were designed by the DBI, in collaboration with TGS Eurogroup, with the sole purpose of providing all the tools to organise study trips independently.
(ANS – Dhulikhel) – Archbishop Simon Poh, Archbishop of Kuching, Malaysia, gave the recognition to Mr Bimal Tamang, an Indigenous student of journalism in Kathmandu as the first-place winner of the Namuncurá Indigenous Short Film Festival 2024 organized by the Don Bosco Kep Media Communication Center of Cambodia and supported by the Network of Ministries Among Indigenous Peoples in Asia (NMAIPA), formerly known as the Circle of the Sacred Rice.
