San Juan Bautista, USA – August 2016 – From July 31st to August 5th, at “St. Francis Retreat” of San Juan Bautista, in California, there was the annual retreat of the Salesians of the Province of St. Andrew (United States West - SUO). The days were marked by fraternity, sharing and spirituality.
Cairo, Egypt – August 2016 – On Friday, August 5th, there was the conclusion of the course of Italian organised for the students who wish to attend the "Don Bosco Salesian Institute" in Rod el Farag, Cairo. The boys enrolled were 330, divided in 12 classes. On the last day, after the final test, educators and students took part in a great treasure hunt.
RMG – After over five months since the kidnapping of Fr. Uzhunnalil, we must keep praying and hoping
(ANS – Roma) – After over five months since his kidnapping, on March 4th in Aden, Yemen, the situation of the Salesian missionary Fr. Thomas Uzhunnalil is still enwrapped in uncertainty. As stated by Msgr. Paul Hinder, Apostolic Vicar of Southern Arabia, “we have no certain news. We only know that something is moving, but we have no certitude”.
(ANS - Minas) – “Without a vocational culture, vocations cannot flourish”. This was once the categorical assertion of A. Cencini. But we may ask: What is the vocational culture? Undoubtedly, it does not come out of the blue. “Some conditions are necessary, a family atmosphere, a spiritual and apostolic environment that allows the question: What do you want me to do, O Lord?”. Because of this, the Salesian Province of Uruguay launched an innovative programme called “We shall go halves” and gave life to the vocational experience “Do you know how to whistle?”.
