León, Spain – June 3rd, 2016 – The “Juan Soñador” School of Formation and Employment was inaugurated in León on June 3rd, in the presence of various public authorities, firms, representatives of the Salesians and the Rector of the School, Álvaro de la Puente. The School follows the “Juan Soñador School Program ”, which has the target of helping young people between 16 and 25 years of age who risk social exclusion, with three projects: socio-educative project, formative project and employment project. The program was born in 2015 from the “Juan Soñador” Foundation and the Salesians, and was financed with European funds by the municipalities of Castilla and León. (ANS – Rome) – “I have seen that abroad the main focus of ministry for migrant Filipinos is on adult migrants, the Overseas Foreign Workers (OFW) who often have to take up double jobs in order to help their extended family. Yet, the needs of children of OFWs born in their new country are often not given due importance. Ministry for children of migrants is a whole new area that, to a great extent, has been abandoned”, expresses Fr Alfred Maravilla, from the Department for the Missions at the Generalate, Rome, who also ministers to Filipino migrants in the Parish of Santissimo Redentore at Val Melaina, Rome.

Shillong, India – June 2016 – The Salesian school  “St. Anthony’s College” of Shillong, belonging to the Province of Silchar (INS), reached the final match in the International tournament for the schools of South Asia and East Asia, that was held in Kunming in China from May 21st to 31st. “St. Anthony’s College” ranked second.
