Italy – National Civil Service with the Salesian: an Opportunity to Grow

14 June 2016

(ANS – Rome) – For those who wish to do the National Civil Service with the Salesians, there are nearly one thousand vacancies (precisely 982), approved for Social Work. The SCS/CNOS Federation is among the first in Italy in terms of vacancies and approved projects. Young people between 18 and 28 years of age who wish to participate in the formative experience of civil service may choose among 80 projects to be carried out in over 300 Salesian houses, such as oratories, youth centres, home-families, schools and centres of vocational training, both in Italy and abroad. It will be a 12 months’ period to rediscover the value of education and put oneself at the service of the most needy

They are over 6000 the volunteers who, during these years, chose to commit themselves in educational projects in Salesian houses, increasing their relational and professional skills. Like Andrea, who spent his year of voluntary work in Salerno: “the civil service with the Salesians has really given me a lot, especially because it made me grow as a human being and as an animator. I thank all the children who filled my day with their smile and who managed to make you happy with a ball.”

The National Civil Service with the Salesians is also an opportunity to move the first steps in the world of voluntary work and in cooperation to development. Not only in Italy, but also abroad, with 5 projects and 43 vacancies available for voluntary work in Spain, Angola, Bolivia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Madagascar and Palestine, thanks to the synergy with VIS  “International Voluntary Service for Development”.

Those who are interested in voluntary work, may send their application within June 30th, 2016.
