The solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Provincial Rev. Fr. Jose Mathew began with an entrance dance. A number of Salesians, religious and priests of the neighbouring institutions and around eight hundred people of the local Salesian parish participated in the Eucharist.
In his homily the Vice-Provincial, Fr. Naresh Kujur, reminded the Christians to live their baptismal promises and become witnesses of Christian values. Immediately after the Holy Eucharist and the lighting of the lamp by chief guests, Rev. Fr. Jose Mathew blessed the school building and carried out the installation of the statue of Don Bosco at the entrance of the school. Addressing the gathering Fr. Jose Mathew said: “Don Bosco School, Jamtoli-Kolebira must become a lighthouse to the whole area and give root to the values and uphold the tribal culture of Jharkhand.”
During the short felicitation programme Fr. Provincial thanked and invoked blessings on all the Salesians of Jamtoli community, sisters of Holy Family Convent, staff, students, parents and the contractors.
The local MLA Mr. Naman Vixal Kongari appreciated and thanked the Salesians of Don Bosco for the initiative taken to construct this beautiful edifice of learning.
