(ANS – Rome) – The 29th General Chapter (GC29) Pre-Chapter Juridical Commission (GC29) met in Rom from 1 to 10 September 2024. The Chapter is scheduled in Valdocco, Turin from 16 February to 12 April 2025, based on the theme "Passionate about Jesus Christ, dedicated to young people". Involved in the Commission are the Secretary of the General Council, Fr Guido Garino,; Fr Giorgio Degiorgi (Piedmont and Valle d 'Aosta Special Circumscription – ICP); Fr Kevin Mwandha (Pontifical Salesian University – UPS Vice-Province); Fr Arockiam Stalin Dhanaraj (Chennai Province India – INM); and Fr David Albornoz Pavisic (Province of Chile – CIL). The work was coordinated by the Procurator General of the Salesian Congregation, Fr Pier Fausto Frisoli.
(ANS - Rome) - To encourage the spiritual preparation of all Salesians in view of the 29th General Chapter (GC29) of the Congregation - to be held in Turin-Valdocco from 16 February to 12 April 2025, on the theme "PASSIONATE FOR JESUS CHRIST, DEDICATED TO THE YOUNG PEOPLE - a musical version of the official prayer of the Chapter has been produced, which takes its cue from the first verse of the prayer and is titled "Good Father". The music for the prayer was composed by the 29th General Chapter Regulator himself, Fr Alphonse Owoudou, in a very special and innovative way: using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
(ANS – Rome) – In view of the next General Chapter of the Salesian Congregation (GC29 – 16 February - 12 April 2025), and a few days before the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the international Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Rome has organised a study day entitled "Passionate about Jesus Christ, dedicated to young people". This is the first of two events that will involve some 20 Salesians invited to reflect on the theme of GC29 from a theological, spiritual, youth and cultural point of view.
(ANS - Rome) - Moderators of Provincial Chapters from around the Salesians world met online on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 March. The meetings, convened by the Moderator of the 29th General Chapter (GC29) Fr Alphonse Owoudou, were led by the members of the Technical Commission, Fr Patrick Antonyraj and Fr Francesco Marcoccio, assisted by Computer Technician Mr. Sandro D 'ambrosio and for Spanish by Fr Francisco Cervantes.
(ANS – Rome) – Preparatory work is underway for the 29th General Chapter (GC29) of the Salesians of Don Bosco, scheduled in Valdocco, Turin, from 16 February to 12 April 2025 on the theme "PASSIONATE ABOUT JESUS CHRIST, DEDICATED TO YOUNG PEOPLE. Living our Salesian vocation faithfully and prophetically.“ Card. Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major, has appointed the members of the Pre-Chapter Commission.
