01 - Lubumbashi, D.R. Congo - May 2019 - From 10 to 15 May, Rector Major Fr Ángel Fernández Artime visited the Salesian Province of Central Africa (AFC), accompanied by his Secretary, Fr Horacio López, Fr Américo Chaquisse, Councilor for the Africa-Madagascar Region, and Fr Albert Kabuge, AFC Provincial.
02 - Kinshasa, D.R. Congo - May 2019 – During the visit of Fr Á.F. Artime to the Africa Africa Congo Vice Province (ACC), 15-19 May, members of the Salesian Youth Movement and the youths attending Salesian centers in Kinshasa gathered at the seat of the Vice Province to show their joy to the Rector Major.
03 - Kenitra, Morocco - May 2019 - From 1 to 3 May, Fr A.F. Artime carried out an Animation Visit to Morocco, the first official of a Rector Major in the country. Also taking part in the event, among others, was Msgr. Cristóbal López Romero, SDB, archbishop of Rabat, and Fr Daniel Federspiel, Provincial of France-South Belgium.
04 - Veržej, Slovenia - May 2019 - From 7 to 10 May there was a meeting of the Provincials of the Central and Northern Europe Region, led by Rector Major Fr Á.F. Artime, and by Region Councilor Fr Tadeusz Rozmus.
05 - Quito, Ecuador - May 2019 - On May 2, the inauguration ceremony of Msgr. Alfredo Espinoza Mateus, SDB, as archbishop of Quito and Primate of Ecuador took place.
06 - Rome, Italy - May 2019 - The International Meeting of the Salesian Bulletin on the theme "Communicating to involve digital press and culture in the mission" was held from 25 to 29 May. The event, led by Fr Filiberto González, General Councilor for Social Communication, was attended by 45 directors of the Salesian Bulletins of the Salesian Congregation.
07 - Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso - May 2019 - The funeral of Fr Fernando Hernández, the Salesian killed on May 17 in Bobo Dioulasso by a former employee, was celebrated on May 23rd. The function was chaired by Fr Américo Chaquisse, Councilor for the Africa-Madagascar Region, and concelebrated by 60 priests. The funeral was attended by thousands of people, a testimony of their affection for the Salesian missionary.
08 - Turin, Italy - May 2019 - On 24 May, the Feast of Mary Help of Christians was celebrated at Valdocco, a feast celebrated in all Salesian houses in the 134 countries where the Salesians are present.
