01- Turin, Italy - May 2021 – The Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, concluded the feast day of Mary Help of Christians, celebrated in the basilica of Valdocco on Monday, 24 May 2021 offering a world-wide embrace to those countries such as India, Brazil & Argentina where Covid-19 had made them pay a huge cost.
02 - Rome, Italy - May 2021 - On 6 May in the church of San Domenico Savio of the Salesian house "Gerini", the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, presided over the Eucharist in which he welcomed the perpetual vows of eight young Salesians from 4 different continents. Present were Fr Maria Arokiam Kanaga, Superior of the UPS Vice Province; Fr Giuseppe Nicolussi, confessor of the community and former General Councilor for Formation; the Director of the community, Fr Adam Kazimierz Homoncik.
03 - Turin, Italy - May 2021 - The world leaders of the 32 groups of the Salesian Family met online from 21 to 23 May with the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, present in Valdocco, for the “World Consulta of the Salesian Family”. The Central Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family, Fr Joan Lluis Playá, animated and guided the event.
04 - Rome, Italy - May 2021 - The meeting of the Salesians attending the course for formators at the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) took place on May 21 at the Salesian Headquarters in the "Sacred Heart" house in Rome with Fr Ivo Coelho, General Councilor for Formation, and his team. Fr Stefano Martoglio, the Rector Major's Vicar, offered the final "good night" in the “camerette” rooms of Don Bosco.
05 - Wrocław, Poland - May 2021 - The Extraordinary Visitation to the Salesian Province of Wrocław (PLO) ended on 1 May; it was conducted, in the name of the Rector Major, by Fr Roman Jachimowicz, Councilor for the Central and Northern Europe Region.
06 - Dungalpitiya, Sri Lanka - May 2021 - The “Don Bosco Development Center” of the Salesian Vice Province of Sri Lanka (LKC) is engaged in relief measures for the population affected by the pandemic and distributes basic necessities to the needy.
07 - Lima, Peru - May 2021 - On May 24, the feast day of Mary Help of Christians, the ceremony of recognition of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians of Lima as a Cultural Heritage of the Nation took place in the presence of various civil and ecclesiastical authorities. On the occasion, the UNESCO Blue Shield was inaugurated; it identifies immovable cultural assets that enjoy special international protection.
08 - Palabek, Uganda - May 2021 - After three years of Salesian presence in the Palabek refugee camp, on the occasion of the feast day of Mary Help of Christians the first group of the Salesian Family was launched: the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA).
