(ANS - Rome) - Salesian Cardinal Angelo Amato, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, presided yesterday, Thursday 8 April, at the concelebrated Mass that opened the second day of the seminar for the promotion of the causes of beatification and canonization in the Salesian family.

(ANS - Rome) –Yesterday 6 April there was a touching celebration which culminated in the enthronement of a distinguished relic of Don Bosco. It marked the opening of the first ever seminar for the promotion of the causes of beatification and canonization. It is being given by the Postulator General, Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, and is being held at the Generalate of the Congregation in Rome.

This is what the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, said during her visit to the Salesian Centre on Tuesday 22 March.  "This is something that we cannot regulate by law,” she said in front of more than 80 journalists. “We can make available a basic subsidy, but taking into account every situation of life is a service that politics alone is incapable of. It needs people with a big heart.”
