(ANS - Nairobi) - The leadership team of Don Bosco Tech Africa (DBTA) and the representatives of the African Union Commission, led by Nicholas Ouma, held a webinar, focusing in particular on the theme: "Improving transitions between school and work and the employability of young people in Africa after COVID-19."
(ANS - Melbourne) - Despite the many initial difficulties, the first online “OzBosco” proved to be a great success. It took place from 14 to 16 August and was a great dose of positivity for all participants. About 80 people - including Salesians, FMA, young people, students and teachers - met on the Zoom platform, sharing and learning from each other. During the online meeting, the theme of the 2020 Strenna was explored and deepened: "Good Christians and upright citizens".
(ANS - Quito) - In mid-August, around the anniversary of Don Bosco's birth, it is a tradition that the groups of the Salesian Family present in Ecuador, with their Councils, meet with the Provincial Council of Salesians to share their initiatives and continue to strengthen the commitment to walk together in a shared mission. The appointment was renewed again this year, albeit digitally, and saw the intervention and accompaniment of Fr Joan Lluís Playá, SDB, Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family, on the theme: “The challenges for the Salesian Family after the 28th General Chapter.”
(ANS - Ciudad de Guatemala) - The National Council for the Salesian Family in Guatemala, in the Central American Province (CAM), has organized a Salesian Virtual Congress on Don Bosco for the 205th anniversary of his birth (Sunday 16 August). The congress, which begins today, Thursday 13 August, and lasts until Saturday 15 August, features various speakers who will offer their reflections in the context of the theme of the Rector Major's Strenna for the current year: “GOOD CHRISTIANS AND UPRIGHT CITIZENS.”
