(ANS - Rome) - From 17 to 19 September 2020 the meeting of the Salesian publishers of the America South Cone and Interamerica regions took place via videoconference. It brought together those in charge for the sector from Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Peru, Chile, Argentina. The event was chaired by Fr Gildásio Mendes dos Santos, General Councilor for Social Communication, with presentations by Fr Hugo Orozco, Councilor for the Interamerica Region, and Fr Gabriel Romero, Councilor for the America South Cone Region. Also present was Marta Palomares, coordinator of the Salesian publishers in Europe.
(ANS - San José) – Taking place last Saturday, 12 September, feast day of the Name of Mary, at the House of Mary Help of Christians, "Sister Maria Romero Social Works", in San José, Costa Rica, was the blessing of the renovated Mausoleum of the Blessed Maria Romero, religious of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA). The archbishop of San José, Msgr. José Rafael Quirós, presided over the solemn ceremony.
(ANS - RMG) - The XVI Regional Meeting of the "Salesian Social America" Network took place online from 8 to 10 September. Initially planned as a face-to-face meeting to be held in Jarabacoa, in the Dominican Republic, the event saw 42 participants among Salesians and lay people - Delegates for Youth Ministry, Delegates for Social Works or Directors of Social Works - from the 14 Provinces of the Salesian region of Interamerica: Antilles, Bolivia, Central America, Chile, Colombia-Bogotá and Colombia-Medellín, Ecuador, United States East and Canada, United States West, Haiti, Mexico-México, Mexico-Guadalajara, Peru and Venezuela.
(ANS - Quito) - More than 40 people are participating in the 2020 Social Communication Meeting of Salesian America, an appointment that had been scheduled to take place in Brazil, but which, due to the coronavirus pandemic, takes place online from 9 to 11 September. The Salesians and lay people who collaborate in this sector are meeting to exchange positive experiences and work on the communication documents of the Congregation.
