(ANS - New Rochelle) - Thousands of children are being recruited and used in armed conflicts all over the world. Between 2005 and 2020, more than 93,000 cases of children recruited and used by the warring parties were verified, although the real number of cases is believed to be much higher. Unicef recalled this on the occasion of the International Day against the Use of Children Soldiers, which took place last Saturday, 12 February.
(ANS – Nairobi) – Don Bosco Utume, an interprovincial Salesian formation house and study center (specific formation to priesthood), has for the past 37 years been an iconic venue where young Salesians from most of the Africa-Madagascar Region converge for their last 4 years of initial formation. It now hosts 61 candidates to priesthood coming from 22 different African nations (besides a few missionary ad gentes) and from 10 provinces of this fastest-growing region in the Salesian Congregation.
