Turin, Italy - 8 September 2021 - On Wednesday 8 September, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, inaugurated two rooms dedicated to the Saints, Blesseds, Venerables and Servants of God of the Salesian Family at the Casa Don Bosco Museum. The opening up of these two new rooms represents the completion of the definitive layout of the Don Bosco House Museum. Simultaneously, at the same museum, the inauguration of the temporary photographic exhibition "Lock art" took place, created in collaboration with ArtFullFrame. Fifteen photographers from all over the world, through their pictures, depict their vision of these pandemic time through their photographic artwork.
Palabek, Uganda - September 2021 - Despite the effects of the pandemic, in the Palabek refugee camp, there are numerous activities that are carried out on a daily basis, thanks to the help of the Salesians and their supporters. In recent months, the first group of the Salesian Family, the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA), was launched, the international World Refugee Day was celebrated, a new church dedicated to the Holy Cross is about to be completed, and a new space for childcare was inaugurated. In addition, more than 250 young refugees from South Sudan have dedicated themselves to growing fruit and vegetables, which they can now integrate with the regular ration offered by the World Food Program.
“We make Holiness consist in always being joyful,” said Don Bosco, and joy is certainly not lacking in all those Salesian courtyards which, in recent weeks, are being populated for the Youth Summer Camps. Many young people, after a difficult year marked by restrictions, have returned to fill the Salesian centers in every part of the world, to play, have fun and spend time together. Always respecting the safety measures, the kids are ready to live to the fullest this summer 2021.
Rome, Italy - June 11, 2021 - On Friday June 11, when the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was celebrated, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, presided at Mass in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart's courtyard, in Rome. In compliance with anti-Covid norms, many faithful participated in the celebrations to live together this Solemnity, so important for the whole Salesian Family.
