The project "Tea with Adilah" works for the integration of young migrant mothers who live in the neighbourhood of Santa Chiara through a simple daily event, which is a tea shared among mothers who are waiting for their children at the exit from the laboratory of educational support in the Salesian oratory. From there, and in collaboration with eight other NGOs from the neighbourhood, and with the support of Fondazione con il Sud, a wide range of services has been developed (medical and gynaecological care, support in the search for jobs, school for parents, psychological support, adult education, etc.) in order to integrate into Italian society, not just mothers, but all members of immigrant families.
The convention was attended by over 200 representatives of organizations working for social inclusion in many European countries and various members of the European Commission. Through various workshops they covered the most topical issues in the social sphere: the basis of social rights, the integration of refugees, the convergences between European countries and how the priorities of each European Semester can help reduce social imbalances.
