From 15 to 19 February, with the support of the NGO "VIA Don Bosco", there was a meeting in El Salvador of the people responsible for job mediation in El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia. The directors of these offices operate within the Professional Training Centres in Salesian institutions, offering support to all young people who complete their courses to help them find work.
The Offices will work with the support of "VIA Don Bosco." According to Anabella Burgos, job coordinator of the Ricaldone Technical Institute in San Salvador, "The meeting served to share best practices and new initiatives to addressing common problems. We wanted to share the most significant achievements in each of the countries. After all, we want to work together, since we are all from Salesian environments and we work for the same young people."
In particular, the meeting aimed to strengthen the services offered by the Salesian centres in management capabilities and good practice, both with regard to effective strategies for employment and self-employment, for the benefit of young people served by Salesian centres.
It should be noted that the service is intended primarily for young people in Salesian Schools but are also open to anybody searching for a job.
