The award ceremony took place on February 28, the anniversary of the institution's founding in 1965. This event marked the beginning of a year-long series of commemorations that will continue throughout 2025 with various celebratory activities.
The day began with a special Eucharistic celebration, during which Ciudad Don Bosco also introduced its new Pastoral Plan. Fr. Jairo Arcos, the institution’s Pastoral Animator, explained the essence of this renewed pastoral commitment, titled "Hagamos un pacto, vivamos la Civilización del Amor" ("Let’s make a pact: Let’s live the Civilization of Love").
This initiative is structured around three key pillars that will guide all of Ciudad Don Bosco's actions throughout its jubilee year:
- Roots of Love – Recovering and strengthening the values that have been the foundation of the community.
- Weaving Networks of Love – Encouraging collaboration and unity to work together for the common good.
- A Bright Future – Projecting the institution’s commitment to the development and well-being of future generations.
The event concluded with the presentation of the seven key spaces of the so-called "Salesian Ecosystem," which are essential to the organization's social impact and transformative efforts. These spaces aim to provide comprehensive support to children, adolescents, and young people, fostering a culture of peace, education, and hope.
With this recognition, Ciudad Don Bosco reaffirms its ongoing commitment to building a more just and supportive future, staying true to the Salesian mission of providing opportunities and assistance to those in greatest need.
