Under the direction of the General Coordinator, Dr Ana Martín García, from 1 January 2024, the museum staff undertook a daily activity of collecting and monitoring visitor data, constantly recording attendance and nationality. The effective collaboration between the museum staff, volunteers and operators of the Universal Civil Service has allowed a more accurate and detailed management of visits.
During 2024, the museum welcomed individual visitors and groups from different nations, but some special events and activities significantly increased the flow of visitors. This past year has been a fundamental year in the museum's growth path, which, since its launch in 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, continues to consolidate its role as a house museum.
Since April 2024, the Casa Don Bosco Museum has also become part of the official lists of museums in Piedmont for the first time, with monthly and annual reports published and prepared by the Cultural Observatory of Piedmont. As of now, data relating to visitor inflows since May 2021 have been collected and made public, offering for the first time a complete overview of attendance statistics (https://ocp.piemonte.it/).
In general, taking a look at the museum statistics of the Casa Don Bosco Museum in Turin, the document shows a significant growth in the number of visitors between 2021 and 2024, with a progressive and regular increase. The analysis of the data also finds that the summer season (June-July) and October are the most frequented periods, while the winter period (November-January) seems less regular for visits.
Overall, 2024, as evidenced by the statistics collected, records that there are more and more people arriving at Valdocco on pilgrimage, out of devotion or curiosity, who then decide to deepen their knowledge of Don Bosco and the cradle of the Salesian charism through the valuable items and guided routes made available by the museum.
