Dr. Paolo Ruffini, the Prefect of the Vatican Dicastery for Communication, who inaugurated the conference website, brings extensive experience in journalism and ethics, underscoring the Church’s role in media engagement. Dr. Natasa Govekar, Director of the Theological-Pastoral Department of the Dicastery, will enrich the conference with her approach to faith communication through imagery, promoting inclusivity and a more dynamic Vatican presence in modern media. Another key speaker, Fr. Gildasio Santos, General Councillor for Social Communication of the Salesian Congregation, will address pastoral communication and innovative ways to connect with youth through digital channels.
Indian Member of Parliament Derek O’Brien, known for his advocacy of youth empowerment and women’s rights, will offer a unique perspective on the intersection of media, politics, and social justice, combining his legislative experience with communication expertise. Sr. Joeyanna D’Souza, a Pauline Sister and social media ethics specialist from Mumbai, will address media addiction and ethical online engagement, sharing her insights into digital ministry and responsible media use. Raj Kumar Fernando, SDB, a media psychologist and Director of Don Bosco College in Chennai, will emphasize the importance of digital well-being for youth, focusing on how to support and engage younger generations in a positive digital environment.
