The Bonn-based association, which has grown continuously since its foundation on 4 September 1980, is committed to helping disadvantaged children and young people worldwide. With 35 employees and a funding volume of around 17 million euros in 2023, Don Bosco Mondo makes a significant contribution to financing the educational projects of the Salesians of Don Bosco.
“I am proud and grateful that I was able to take over the chairmanship of the board in 2009 from my predecessor and close confidant, Mr Jürgen v. Danwitz, and that I have been able to lead the association for 15 years now. Together with wonderful colleagues on the Board of Directors, we worked on the development of the organisation and can now confidently place the task of management in the hands of full-time board members,” says Alexander Knauss, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Don Bosco Mondo, summing up.
Silvia Cromm and Bettina Ruoff will take over the management of the association from 1 September 2024. As the new board members, two long-standing employees in management positions will ensure continuity and stability. The change in management is linked to further changes in the association's structure, which should enable even closer cooperation with the partner organisation Don Bosco Mission Bonn. The General Assembly will remain the supreme body of the organisation, while the newly appointed honorary Supervisory Board will monitor the Management Board and, together with the Board of Trustees, provide advice to the head office.
