The meeting was attended by the San Lorenzo community of the National Salesian Works Centre (CNOS) of Italy, with the three lay people who make up the council of the CNOS Educative and Pastoral Community (EPC) and, in addition to the members of the National Centre of Madrid, also the Youth Ministry Delegates for the two Spanish Salesian Provinces, and Fr Fabio Attard, Head of Formation of Salesians and Laity in Europe.
The first day was a presentation of the National Centre of Italy and Spain, and one of the Provinces of Spain, in addition to evaluation of the seminar on Migrants that took place in Malaga last year, thanks to the online contribution of Fr Rafael Bejarano, SDB, member of the Youth Ministry Sector, and Fr Alberto Ares, SJ. The work then continued with the reflection on the seminar on First Proclamation, which will take place in Madrid in the autumn, and on its organisation.
On the second day, space was given to the presentation of the second Province of Spain and the discussion on the work of the Youth Ministry Sector on affectivity and sex education. The event saw video conference contribution from Rome by Fr Andrea Bozzolo, Rector of the Pontifical Salesian University and Antonella Sinagoga, psychotherapist and with the General Councilor for Salesian Youth Ministry, Fr Miguel Ángel García Morcuende, author of the volume: "A youth ministry that educates to love".
Fr Bozzolo offered a theoretical framework and presented the educational nodes, while Dr Sinagoga presented best practices and the steps to be taken, based on the experience gained from the published volume.
The meeting ended with the sharing of some common appointments. The next meeting between the two national centres is scheduled in a year, in June 2025, in Rome.
