13 June 2024

(ANS - Rome) – The "Accompanying When Trauma Hits" project continues, a formation course for educators engaged in situations affected by the armed conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.

After the two residential weeks held from 3 to 17 April in Rome at the Pontifical Salesian University, the project continues with the follow-up phase of the projects that the participants have activated in their own situation, putting into practice the tools acquired during the training.

For example, a project on trauma for teachers, educators and animators started in Aleppo at the Salesian House with monthly meetings. In Ukraine, a project for high school teachers on the development of educational resources in wartime has already been launched in Zytomir. Together with the other projects, they are accompanied by the course teachers.

In collaboration with the DON BOSCO NEL MONDO FOUNDATION and Don Bosco Network, a next edition of the course is already being planned that will address other socio-cultural contexts where the Salesian Family operates and where the challenge of educational management of trauma generated by armed conflicts, natural disasters, etc., is presented.

The videos, in Italian and English versions, of the presentation of the course in its first edition are available on the YouTube channel of the Pontifical Salesian University.
