The event was also attended by the Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), Mother Chiara Cazzuola, accompanied by some of her sisters; the Mother General of the Salesian Oblates of the Sacred Heart, Mother Graziella Beghini, with some of her sisters; Fr Giuseppe Ruta, Vice-Provincial of the Pontifical Salesian University; and the Zeffirino Namuncurà community, led by the Rector, Fr Silvio Roggia.
Together with the Postulator General for the Causes of Saints of the Salesian Family, Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, there were all the collaborators of the General Postulation: Fr Gabriel de Jesús Cruz Trejo, Dr Lodovica Maria Zanet, Dr Mariafrancesca Oggianu, Dr Cristiana Marinelli, Dr Matteo Penati, Dr Maurizio Bruni, Deacon Luciano Griggio.
Fr Cameroni, in his greeting and presentation of the work carried out, expressed deep gratitude and praise to God for the holiness already recognised in the Salesian Family of Don Bosco and for other candidates in process of recognition. "From Don Bosco down to our own times we recognise a tradition of holiness to which we need to pay attention, since the embodiment of the charism that had its origin in him found its expression in a variety of states of life and in different forms, it is a question of men and women, young people and adults, consecrated persons and lay people, bishops and missionaries who in certain historical, cultural and social contexts, different in time and place, made the special light of the Salesian charism shine out, representing a heritage that continues to play an effective role in the life and in the communities of believers and of men and women of good will.” He also recalled that practically half of the groups of the Salesian Family (15 out of 32) have at least one Cause of Beatification and Canonisation underway.
He then went on to present the project of the works prepared and followed by the architect Toti Cameroni, thanking all the companies that contributed to the construction, with the coordination done by the Studio of Engineer Francesco Miotto.
Two short videos were then screened: one presenting the works and the other re-proposing the poetic text written by Fr Pasquale Liberatore "Like stars in the sky".
The Rector Major then spoke, stressing the placement of the new environments of the Postulation at the international formation community for students of Theology, where it can also benefit from the proximity to the UPS, with its library, the Central Archives and the academic setting. Finally came the opening and blessing of the new premises in an atmosphere of intense prayer and spirituality.
Truly "experience increasingly confirms that the promotion and care of the Causes of Beatification and Canonisation of our Family, the celebration of events concerning holiness, are dynamics of grace that arouse evangelical joy and a sense of charismatic belonging, renewing resolutions and commitments of fidelity to the call received and generating apostolic and vocational fruitfulness. The saints are true mystics of the primacy of God in the generous gift of self, prophets of evangelical fraternity, creative servants of brothers and sisters", Fr Cameroni recalled in conclusion.
