Albania – An animation visit to expand the Confederation in more countries around the world: Past Pupils visit Albania and Kosovo

(ANS – Tirana) – For the meeting of the Executive Council of the World Confederation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco, the President Mr Bryan Magro and the General Secretary Mr Peter Kováč visited the Salesians working in Albania and Kosovo as part of their animation visits to continue to expand the organisation in more countries around the world.

During a meeting with the three Salesian communities in Albania and the two Salesian presences in Kosovo, it was decided that the Rectors of all houses will assume the role of Delegate for Past Pupils so that in the coming months they can take the first steps to founding the organisation in the Salesian presences of Albania and Kosovo. The meeting was also attended by the Provincial Fr Gianpaolo Roma, the Vice-Provincial Fr Tome Mihaj and the Salesian Family Delegate of the IME Province Don Tobia Carotenuto.

The President and the Secretary General had the opportunity to explain the identity, the charism and the mission of the past pupil and friend of Don Bosco in the world today. The setting up of new organisations, good practices, and the animation of leaders in the organisation were among the topics in a lively discussion during this meeting.  The Provincial appointed the Rector's of each Salesman community to act as the Delegate for past pupils.

Meanwhile the Executive Council met with other members online and discussed various activities and initiatives to be held in the coming months among them is the upcoming Extraordinary World General Assembly from the 2nd October to the 6th October in Valdocco with the main message “Journeying together: change for continuity”.

Another initiative is a monument dedicated to Carlo Gastini and all past pupils and friends of Don Bosco which will be inaugurated in Valdocco during the World Assembly.
