The conference is being organized by CIOFS (the Italian Women's Centre for Salesian Work) at the Salesianum in Via della Pisana, 1111. There will be a series of meetings with experienced speakers and some group work to focus on the priorities to be realized in the coming years.
In the socio-cultural context that is already making it hard in the new millennium to find ways and new reasons for life and hope, the Italian Women's Centre for Salesian Work, according to its President Sister Marilisa Miotti, wants to promote a deeper reflection on the contribution that schools can offer the new generations considering the numerous challenges they encounter. The school can rediscover the high point of its educational worth in the commitment to educate and promote skills and develop competency with a view to integral education.
The topics that will be addressed are intended to bring all involved in the school back to the core values that characterize the FMA schools and give impetus to innovative educational experiences. They will also address some issues that form the connective tissue in a school situation - teaching, education and "generating" new people, who will rediscover in the school the meaning of their lives and of their professionalism, the joy of meeting the other, of solidarity and of service, and the hope of a more just and more human world, beginning at its doorstep.
