Present on the part of the St Peter Claver Province of Colombia-Bogotà (COB) were Fr John Jairo Gómez, COB Provincial, the Rector of the Foundation, Fr Leonardo Gómez Hernández, the Provincial Economer, Fr Rafael Andrés Lasso, and Mr. Jose Miguel Gomez, the institution's accountant.
Bro. Muller congratulated them “for the progress made by the ‘Salesiana‘ in such a short time” and also invited them “to be more daring and creative in obtaining students and resources”; he added that “the Salesiana has a great responsibility towards the Province, so that it is truly an instrument of integration of all the dimensions of the Overall Provincial Plan.”
In turn, Fr Gómez Hernández added that “There are many challenges that we must face in this new time after the pandemic; financial stability will be achieved if the entire university community is fully committed to the project: with new proposals, new academic offers, technical and technological in-depth study, great effort in ongoing formation, regionalisation through the use of technology, attraction of new students and search for resources.”
During his visit, the Economer General focused his attention on the progress made within the Salesian University Foundation. Among these, the formulation and execution of innovative academic programs aimed at attracting the most needy young people and creating a future of scientific progress for Colombia. Efforts to provide state-of-the-art technologies and infrastructure to the foundation's laboratories and Learning and Research Resource Centre (CRAI) were also highlighted. Finally, the new headquarters of the Don Bosco Center Institute were proudly presented.
