After receiving the award dedicated to the memory of Cardinal Giordano, for 19 years at the head of the Neapolitan archdiocese, Fr Costa took the floor to thank the jury for the recognition and, starting from the theme developed through his book – a collection of articles that are best practices for those who want to learn the journalist's profession – he hoped for a “less precarious” set of circumstances for Catholic publishing, and called for a new season of creativity and audacity.
The following were also awarded during the ceremony,: Andrea Tornielli, Editorial Director of the Vatican Dicastery for Communication for his “Vita di Gesù” [Life of Jesus]; Fr Vittorio Trani, chaplain of the Regina Coeli prison in Rome, for his “Come è in cielo, così sia in terra”[On earth, as it is in heaven]; and Fabio Bolzetta, journalist with Tv2000, for “La Chiesa nel digitale” [The Church in the digital world]; in addition to Fabio Marchese Ragona, Vaticanist with Mediaset, for “Luca Attanasio”; and to Presbyterian pastor Marcelo Figueroa, for his “Le diversità reconciliate” [Differences reconciled]. Finally, together with Fr Costa’s book, a special mention was also given to “Il Sinodo fra le macerie” [The Synod among the ruins], by Fr Armando Sannino, a professor at the Pontifical Lateran University.
