In the speech delivered for the occasion, the Provincial highlighted that the time had come to modernize this health facility to provide quality health care in the name of the Church and the Salesian Congregation, thus following the logic dictated by Don Bosco. He also implored divine grace and goodness, without which, he explained, this work can never develop.
For his part, Fr. Kaya explained in detail the three phases of this modernization and pointed out that the work will be carried out by an Indian construction company. The very person in charge of the works, who spoke afterward, in the presence of the engineers and workers who will carry out the work, quantified the time for the execution of the project as 9 months.
Dr. Franck Monga, the doctor in charge of the Lubumbashi Health District, who was also present at the ceremony, acknowledged the value and contribution of the "Afia Don Bosco" Polyclinic for the citizenship and expressed his confidence on behalf of the people of his area. And in thanking the Salesians of Don Bosco, he said that Afia Don Bosco is a quality partner of the Congolese government in the health sector.
Built in 1987, the "Afia Don Bosco" Polyclinic is still intimately linked to its values: those of providing health care, with the best possible quality, to the inhabitants of the city of Lubumbashi, the second largest city in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
