Here is the appeal by Archbishop Krivitskiy, SDB:
"God bless you! I am coming from Ukraine, first of all, to thank the Salesian Congregation, my confreres, for not leaving alone us in such a difficult time, a time of test that each one of us is going through. Today we are preparing for a tough, tough winter time. The situation is still not easy and calm, except in some areas and for some people.
We still take care of a lot of people in need, people who are moving within Ukraine and need help, starting from the usual food, daily hot meals, to the preparation for winter, where in some areas there may be no gas or electricity.
For this purpose, we are launching new projects, such as opening another field kitchen, for people in need in Žytomyr.
We are also looking for a way for each priest, each parish, to provide not only warmth for themselves, but also to create a certain territory, a room for people who find themselves in such a critical situation can get warm.
We are looking for resources that could help people to fix this: we are talking about power generators, about stoves for heating, about different ways to keep warm. And, of course, food is still needed, because there are a lot of people who are left without work, who left their land fleeing that terrible war, and are trying to cope with it.
And of course, we want to thank you for every help, prayerful and humanitarian assistance: we really need it and we pray for those who help us."
