Among those present at the meeting were: the Rector Major's Central Delegate for the Secretariat for the Salesian Family, Fr. Joan Lluís Playà; Br. Dominic Duc Nam Nguyen, SDB, World Delegate for Salesian Cooperators (SSCC) and Past Pupils of Don Bosco; Sr. Lucrecia Uribe, FMA, World Delegate SSCC and World Animator of ADMA; and Antonio Boccia, World Coordinator of Salesian Cooperators (SSCC)
The meeting opened with a brief presentation of the reality of the SF in the different Provinces and animated groups. Then Fr. Playà introduced an illustrative video and the main keys to understanding the Salesian Family's Charter of Identity, and offered a summary of the document.
Then, with the intervention also of Sister Uribe, the figure of the Provincial Delegate and the animators of the various groups of the Salesian Family were addressed in detail. It was emphasized that the significant presence of the Delegate is, in fact, a guarantee of the Salesian charism and for this reason much care must be placed on his or her person. He or she, therefore, must be a person in a continuous process of growth in the human dimension; aware that they are called by God to provide a service of accompaniment in the style and spirit of the Good Shepherd; in love with Salesian spirituality; and in ongoing formation.
Another topic of reflection was the role and value of the Provincial and Local Advisory Councils (Consulta) of the Salesian Family. After a presentation on this topic, the Rector Major's Central Delegate for the Secretariat for the Salesian Family encouraged the assembly to indicate how such consultations are carried out in their Provinces, giving rise to a frank and open dialogue among all.
There was also time on the day of August 5, 2022 - on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians - to listen to and reflect on the message of greeting from Mother General of the FMA, Mother Chiara Cazzuola, sent from Mornese.
Antonio Boccia then shared a presentation on the laity in the Church and Salesian Family, which was followed by a moment for discussions and feedback.
Before concluding the meeting with an open space for the evaluation of the meeting and for proposals for the future, Fr. Playà animated yet one last talk inherent to Youth Ministry in relation to the Salesian Family.
