Among the central aspects addressed was the message of the Holy Father Francis for the 56th World Day of Social Communications, scheduled for next May: "Listening with the ear of the heart." The central theme was presented by Fr Carlos Nabel García, Provincial Delegate for Formation, who emphasized that communicators must always keep in mind the fundamental dynamic of listening: in fact, it is included in that process that allows God to reveal Himself as the One who creates man in His image and likeness (through the Word), and who in listening recognizes Him as His own interlocutor.
ANT Provincial, Fr José Pastor Ramírez, sent greetings to the participants and invited them to listen through the ear of God, to speak through His Word, and reiterated the concept that listening is an essential condition for authentic communication.
The General Councilor for Social Communication, Fr Gildasio Mendes, also connected live for the appointment, was able to greet the participants one by one, and encouraged them to recognize the value of unity in diversity.
Fr Ricardo Cámpoli, from the Social Communication Sector, also delivered a message to those present, in which he said: "Being communicators for us is not so much a job as a vocation, in which we can echo our experience of faith, doing something we enjoy."
At the end of the meeting, the training program for Salesian communicators (PLUS) was presented, organized by ANT's Office of Social Communication, in collaboration with the Delegates of Social Communication of the various works. Designed to respond to the challenges of the present time, the program aims to raise the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of social communication in the province.
