The data collected throughout the country confirm both the continuous increase in the average age and the intensification of the rhythms of life, already frenetic today, of families, which make it increasingly necessary to identify tools to improve the use of services by frail people.
With this in mind, the Don Bosco Social Works have offered their availability to the Guaranteed Mobility Project, which mobilizes the community's best resources to allow people to actively participate in the life of society.
"This patronage means sharing an idea that is a virtuous example of collaboration, commitment and willingness to support the frailties that exist in society and that are increasing today due to the concomitance of various factors, also resulting from the pandemic," said the Mayor of Cinisello Balsamo, Giacomo Ghilardi, and the Councilor for the Third Sector and Centrality of the Person, Riccardo Visentin.
The project is being carried out thanks to the sense of social responsibility of local entrepreneurs and provides for various types of social transport and accompaniment services, which will be implemented in the coming months, also in the face of emerging needs.
The director of the Don Bosco Social Works, Fr Elio Cesari, emphasized that the ceremony for the delivery of the Renault Master vehicle takes place within the initiatives of the School Festival, which will culminate on Saturday 22 May, with the celebration of the Mass in honor of Mary Help of Christians, which will be attended by a representative of pupils, but which can be followed in live streaming on the “Salesiani Sesto” YouTube channel.
Of the 2,700 pupils of the large Salesian complex, a large part comes from the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo. The Guaranteed Mobility Project offers a service in the area that the Salesians, located on the border between Cinisello and Sesto, will be able to appreciate by dedicating to young people the initiatives that have always animated Don Bosco's charism and which are even more precious today.
Addressing the sponsoring companies present, Fr Cesari recalled how already in 1887, Don Bosco wrote to his benefactors: “I must dissolve a debt towards you and thus satisfy a great need of my heart […]. Without your charity, I could have done little or nothing; with your charity we have instead cooperated with the Grace of God to dry many tears and save many souls.”
The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Davide Orlandi, head of PMG Italy, who explained how they activate more than 250 collaborations a year throughout the country.
