Italy – Rector Major at presentation of Fr Paolo Albera exhibition

21 January 2021

(ANS - Turin) - The exhibition that the Don Bosco House Museum in Turin has decided to dedicate to Fr Paolo Albera, the Successor of Don Bosco at the head of the Congregation, is arousing more and more interest in the Salesian world, and not only the centenary of his death and the year 2021 dedicated to him. The presentation event of the exhibition takes place on Saturday 30 January, on the eve of the Feast Day of Don Bosco, and will be chaired directly by the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime.

The event begins at 9:00 (UTC + 1) with the Eucharistic celebration in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians presided by the Rector Major himself. Afterwards, at 10:00, the Rector Major will go to the spaces of the first Refectory dedicated to children at the Casa Don Bosco Museum, where the exhibition is located, to present it to the Salesians and friends of Don Bosco.

It will be possible to follow the event live on Rete 7 (digital terrestrial channel 12) and on the Facebook page @museocasadonbosco.

“Fr Albera is for us a great model of love for Don Bosco. He will inspire us also in this time we are living, with the first global pandemic affecting the lives of all countries on a planetary level, whose long-lasting effects, for now, we can only imagine with broad approximation,” said Fr Á F. Artime in the letter in which he indicates the year 2021 to commemorate Fr Albera (see Acts of the General Council no. 432).

The exhibition - fruit of the research of Fr Aldo Giraudo, Fr Silvio Roggia, and Paolo Vaschetto, who curated the texts; with the graphics created by "Mattana Grafica & Servizi", the installation by "Berrone Livio & CSNC", and under the supervision of Dr. Stefania de Vita, Director of the Museum. It can already be seen online at the page: www.donalbera.museocasadonbosco.it
