In coordination with each other, various groups of the Salesian Family will collect proposals for prayer every day, themes for reflection to deepen Marian spirituality, materials for children - such as coloring sheets and adapted prayers, songs, videos ... - and film proposals related to Our Lady to be seen within each family, accompanied by the presentation of the Salesian Fr Josean Montull.
Catechesis and prayer at home
What if our whole house "talked" about Mary? This is the challenge: in fact, other materials will invite you to discover, in every corner of your home, attitudes from the life of Mary, with suggestions for moments of reflection in the family. Furthermore, every day, the Salesian Fr Bautista Araiz will offer a brief reflection, and a group of devotees of the Help of Christians will offer an audio recording of the Rosary. On Thursday 7, 14 and 28, at 19:00 (UTC + 2), it will also be possible to participate online in a moment of adoration before the Eucharistic Jesus.
A special novena
The novena to Mary Help of Christians (15-23 May), prepared by Fr Araiz, is already available for those who wish to prepare and follow. The Rector Major will accompany the evolution of the novena daily with a video message. And on May 24, there will also be an appointment from the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Seville.
May in solidarity
Especially in these difficult times, the memory of Mary exhorts the whole Salesian Family to continue the many initiatives already underway to help the most needy. For this month each work and group of the Salesian Family is invited to make a special collection for local institutions or situations that can be helped.
All these proposals will be narrated on the website www.mayosalesiano.es. But there will be many other initiatives that will develop in each home, group of the Salesian Family or in the educational and pastoral communities, which will be relaunched on the profiles of the Salesian Provinces of Spain in various social networks.
The invitation, therefore, is to use the #Mayosalesian hastag to give visibility to what will be produced or achieved.
It will be a special month of May, and there will certainly be moments to express one's love for Mary, who in the Salesian Family is venerated in a special manner with the nickname "Help of Christians."
