Papua New Guinea - Media seminar highlights importance of environment
Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - March 2020 - A media seminar was held on 29 February for nine schools and secondary institutions in Port Moresby, including Boroko's Don Bosco Technological Institute and Don Bosco Technical School in Gabutu. Organized by the Social Communication Commission of the Catholic Episcopal Conference of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands (CBC SOCOM), the first media education seminar for Catholic students highlighted the importance of caring for the environment. “Keep it clean. Go green” was the central theme of the seminar, with sessions focused on the 54th message of Pope Francis for the World Communications Day. The seminar was led by Carol Aigilo, environmentalist, Fr Ambrose Pereira, SDB, CBC SOCOM Secretary, and Nigel Akuani (SOCOM).
