Baucau, East Timor - February 2020 - The Salesian Family of Baucau met to celebrate the feast of the Salesian proto-martyrs St Luigi Versiglia and St Callisto Caravario, the latter being the patron of the Salesian Vice Province of East Timor (TLS). St Callisto Caravario was one of the first missionaries who brought Don Bosco's charism to the island and remained there from 1927 to 1929, before being martyred in China with Msgr. Luigi Versiglia. The Eucharistic celebration was presided by Fr João Boavida, SDB, and concelebrated by the Salesian priests of the Baucau community, in the presence of numerous young people from the Salesian school and from public schools, municipal authorities and members of the Salesian Family.
