Italy - II Regional meeting of Salesian schools in Sicily
Piazza Armerina, Italy - November 2019 - 86 students from two Salesian schools in Sicily, Palermo's "Don Bosco Ranchibile" and Catania's "San Francesco di Sales", gathered to experience three days of commitment and sharing, discussing the theme: “Honest citizens ... builders of the future.” Through videos, prompts for reflection and, above all, group dynamics, each participant came into play personally, trying to discover his or her own role in society by recovering the importance of every small gesture of attention towards the common home, towards one's neighbor and the most needy. To enrich the children's work, led by the team - composed of the two catechists Fr Arnaldo Riggi, SDB, and Fr Paolo Fichera, SDB, by Salesians, teachers and animators - were other guests who brought a testimony of commitment in the social sphere. Finally, a strong call to concreteness was offered to the participants by the Provincial of the Salesians of Sicily and Tunisia, Fr Giovanni D’Andrea.
