Belgium - Official opening of 4th European Vocational Training Week
Brussels, Belgium - October 2019 - On 14 October, Marianne Thyssen, European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, visited the Don Bosco Institute in Brussels (IDB Woluwe Saint Pierre) for the official opening of the fourth European Vocational Training Week. She was welcomed and guided by the young students whom she encouraged, together with teachers and directors, to continue the good work of education and professional training in the spirit of Don Bosco. Ms. Thyssen was accompanied by the Ambassador for Education and Vocational Training, Pierre Kompany, father of the famous Belgian footballer Vincent Kompany. Renato Cursi, Executive Secretary of Don Bosco International (DBI), also joined the visit alongside the General Director IDB, Bernadette Devillé; the IDB deputy director, Stéphane Allard, and IDB professor, Jean-Marc Brasseur.
