Manaus, Brazil - September 2019 - From 16 to 19 September, the Formation Delegates of the Provinces of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay met for the Regional Formation Commission's annual meeting in the presence of Fr Ivo Coelho, General Councilor for Formation, and Fr Francisco Santos, of the same dicastery, contact person for the formation of the America South Cone Region. Led by Fr Gilson Marcos da Silva, coordinator of the commission, the group worked on various topics including: the statistics of the region's initial Formation and their interpretation; the Salesian Training Center for Salesian Education in America, presented by Fr Luís Timossi, from the CSFPA team; reflections on some documents of the Salesian Congregation; the revision of the commission's "Regulation", the "synergies" between the houses of formation and various events promoted by the Formation sector in the provincial, regional and international sphere. The Formation Commissions of each of the Provincial Conferences took the opportunity to align the guidelines on the initial and ongoing formation of their provinces.
