New Zealand - Retreat for young people of "Kiwi Bosco"
Auckland, New Zealand - September 2019 - Last weekend at the parish of “St. Paul” in Massey there was a youth retreat called “Kiwi Bosco”. Led by the parish's young leaders, its program focused on what it means to find joy and happiness for young people in New Zealand. Fr Mosese Tui, SDB, invited Lauren Hichaaba, from Australia, director of the Cagliero Project, to talk with the young people about her life, her work, and its central themes. She also explained to them the importance of the work of the Cagliero Project, the international volunteering program of the Province of Australia. Over the weekend the topic of juvenile suicide was discussed several times, a significant problem for young people in New Zealand and the Pacific where there are some of the highest rates of youth suicides in the world.
