Burkina Faso - Priestly ordinations
Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso - July 2019 - On 6 July the Salesians Jean Paul Béré and Oscar Medah received priestly ordination by the hands of Msgr. Paul Ouédraogo, archbishop of Bobo-Dioulasso. The priestly ordination comes at a difficult time for the Salesians in Burkina Faso for the recent killings of two Salesians: Fr Antonio César Fernández and Fr Fernando Hernández. The Superior of the Province of Francophone West Africa (AFO), Fr José Elégbédé, said "God has taken two priests from us in Burkina Faso. Now He has given us two more."
