Chile - 125th anniversary of Salesian presence in Valparaiso
Valparaíso, Chile - July 2019 - On 4 July the commemoration of the 125 years of Salesian presence in Valparaíso, presided by Fr Carlo Andrés Lira, Superior of the Salesian Province of Chile, was celebrated in the presence of civil and religious authorities. The Salesian presence in Valparaíso was dreamed of by Don Bosco on the night of 9 April 1886, while he was in Barcelona.
