Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - June 2019 - The Salesian Vice Province of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands (PGS) organized the annual formation meeting of the leaders and animators of the "Wantok Bosco" youth groups; its aim, to strengthen and consolidate the local Salesian Youth Movement (SYM). This year the meeting focused on Salesian youth spirituality as a way of living the 2019 Strenna of the Rector Major. It saw the participation of 250 young people and 50 animators, who gathered in Port Moresby on 8-9 June. The concluding Eucharist, on the Solemnity of Pentecost, motivated the young to be apostles of their peers and companions. In about two weeks, the "Wantok Bosko" will be celebrated in Honiara for the youth of the Solomon Islands.
