Colombia - Music that omits violence and exclusion
Medellín, Colombia - April 2019 - Thanks to the cooperation of the "Don Bosco Mission" of Bonn, Germany, on 24 April the Salesian house "Ciudad Don Bosco" in Medellín visited a group of musicians from the "Beethoven Orquestra Bonn". Children and young people from the project “Beethoven Moves!" - Music que Omite Violencia y Exclusión (Music that Omits Violence and Exclusion) danced, painted and sang to the rhythm of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, in a pilot test that aimed to represent sadness, anger, joy and hope - feelings expressed by the symphony. Moreover, after several days of rehearsals, "Ciudad Don Bosco" and the "Beethoven Orquestra Bonn" presented a sort of preview of the event that will be held jointly in Germany in 2020, where the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth will be commemorated.
