Mexico - Pilgrimage of Virgin of Zapopan to Salesian church "St Luigi Gonzaga"
Guadalajara, Mexico - April 2019 - As part of its pilgrimage through the streets and parishes of the archdiocese of Guadalajara, on April 30th the statue of Our Lady of Zapopan - whose devotion is deeply rooted in western Mexico - arrived in the Salesian "St Luis Gonzaga". The parishioners offered the Virgin numerous expressions of affection and devotion. The statue remained in the church under the responsibility of the Salesians also on May 1st. The feast of Our Lady of Zapopan is celebrated on 12 October and about two million people participate in the traditional pilgrimage that day to take her to her basilica in Zapopan.
