Italy - Pope Francis celebrates Holy Mass in Coena Domini in the Velletri prison
Velletri, Italy - April 2019 - On the afternoon of April 18, Holy Thursday, Pope Francis visited the District Prison of Velletri (Rome) for the celebration of Holy Mass in Coena Domini with the ritual of the washing of the feet, the beginning of Easter Triduum. After the proclamation of the Gospel, the Pope delivered his homily during which he stressed the importance of being more servants of one another, more friends, more brothers in service. Then, during the ritual, he washed the feet of 12 inmates from four different countries.
