Japan –Joint Annual Salesian Family Council Meeting
Tokyo, Japan – January 2019 – The Japanese Joint Annual Salesian Family Council Meeting took place on 10 January, with 31 representatives of SF Groups in the country. After the welcome from Sr Teresina Morishita, FMA, Provincial in Japan, Fr Paul Tamura led reflection on the address by the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, during his visit to the country in November last, where he emphasised the importance of unity among the SF. representatives of each SF Group then referred to the activities they had carried out in 2018 and this was followed by the introduction of the manual for lay missioners in the SF, which will be published in the coming year. Participants also took part in a presentation on the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) which is currently in the development stage in Japan. The Rector Major's Strenna on “Holiness for you too” was presented and the day concluded with a Goodnight from Fr Jacob Hamaguchi, Provincial in Japan, and the blessing and prayer of Mary help of Christians.
