Surat Thani, Thailand - September 2018 - On 30 September, Msgr. Joseph Prathan Sridarunsil, SDB, presided Mass in the Cathedral of St. Raphael for the 50th anniversary of the Diocese of Surat Thani. The diocese was erected in 1969, when it was divided by the diocese of Ratchaburi with the papal bull "Qui Regno Christi", and is suffragan of the archdiocese of Bankok. The Surat Thani area has been evangelized by the Salesians of Don Bosco since the 1930s.
