23 March 2016

Rome, Italy - March 2016 - The Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of Salesians engaged in Social (SCS) was held on 16 March. The purpose was to review the activities carried out in 2015 and to plan future projects. Thanks to the intervention of government officials, information was presented on the Third Sector Reform and the National Foreign and Civil Service. The annual report of the President of SCS, Fr Giovanni D'Andrea, completed the agenda. "In 2015 we intensified our support for poor and marginalized young people in the country. Several projects were launched in conjunction with other Salesian works with which we have formed a network. Collaboration with partners and our presence throughout the country continue with one of our key projects, the SIV (Sostengo In Vicinanza) which will also continue in 2016. (...) There are also excellent prospects for the Civil Service, which this year saw the participation of about 1,200 young volunteers in Italy and abroad."
