Poland - Chess Championships of Salesian Parishes
Krakow, Poland - April 2018 - On April 14th at the Benedictine Abbey of Tyniec the 4th Chess Championship of the Liturgical Service of the Altar (in Polish LSO) of the Archdiocese of Krakow, and the I Chess Championship of the Salesian Parishes of LSO were held. In all, 72 young chess players from 20 different parishes participated, including from outside the Krakow archdiocese, together with a number of priests and other companions. Both championships were held under the patronage of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Krakow, Msgr. Marek Jędraszewski, of the abbot of Tyniec, father Szymon Hiżycki OSB, and of the Salesian Provincial of Krakow, Fr Adam Parszywka. The organization was curated by the Salesian parish in Krakow-Pychowice, with the parish priest Fr Jacek Ryłko, SDB, and Jacek Przybylski, Coordinator of the League of Małopolska.
