Papua New Guinea - Salesian missionary experience: "Namuncurá Experience"
Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - December 2017 – On Sunday 10 December, eleven aspiring Salesians received the missionary cross from Fr Alfred Maravilla, Provincial of the Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands Vice Province (PGS). Previously, the young people had attended several preparatory sessions for the Salesian Missionary Experience "Namuncurá Experience", a new training program developed by the Vice Province, which these days is bringing them to proclaim the Word of God in several villages near Araimiri - the first Salesian presence in the country, started in 1980. The "Namuncurá Experience" will therefore serve both as a form of apostolate and as a stage of vocational discernment of young aspirants.
